FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY IN MEXICO

Mexico has the 3rd largest food industry in the Americas. It is estimated to be worth US$35,000.

In 2020, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the food and beverage industry in Mexico hovered around 827.98 billion Mexican pesos. During the same year, the bakery products and tortilla manufacturing industry was the sector that contributed the most to the food industry's GDP, with a contribution of more than 208 billion pesos.

The states that received the most foreign direct investment for the industry were Mexico City (US$47M), Jalisco (US$29.9M) and Guanajuato (US$29.5M).
